From the Principal's Desk
Parent and community involvement is an important part or our school. There are many ways for parents and community member to be involved including volunteering in the classroom or library, volunteering for events and field trips, and being involved with our Parent Advisory Council or Canadian Parents for French. If you would like more information on how to get involved, please contact the school office or your child's classroom teacher.

Bears Run Cross-Country
On October 2nd over 100 ÉBEYS students attended a Cross-Country Meet with all the Sunrise Elementary Schools! Students practiced running the distance every Tuesday & Thursday at lunch recess. Grade 3’s ran 800 m, Grade 4’s ran 1000 m and our Grade 5’s did a whole 1200m! We are extremely proud of all the hard work and dedication students showed during practice and the races at Birds Hill Park.
We would like to thank all of the volunteers and parents who attended in support of our students. We would also like to thank the school staff involved in making this event a success.

Tipi Painting
Our students took part in a special Tipi painting activity to honor Every Child Matters. Each class helped paint their handprint on the Tipi to show respect for Indigenous cultures and to remember the children from residential schools. The Tipi is a symbol of home and community and painting it together reminded us that every child is important, loved, and should feel safe. We are proud to learn and grow in a school that celebrates kindness, respect, and truth.

Terry Fox Walk
On September 24th, EBEYS participated in the 45th Anniversary of the Marathon of Hope by going for a whole school walk/run. The sun was shining, and many smiles were seen as the students, staff and community members made their way around the course. As a school we raised over $1000.00 which is going towards Terry’s dream of a world without cancer. Thank you to everyone who joined us and donated to cancer research!
